Seven Varsity Letters across three sports; still holds 42 year Foothill High School pole vault record; placed sixth at State Decathlon Championships; All-City, Most Outstanding Varsity Football as wide receiver; three year Varsity Basketball; member Azusa Pacific College NAIA Championship Football Team; 1982 Silver Medalist Pole Vault – USA Men’s Track Team at World Games in Mexico City.
Lanette Covington-Hopkins – Track and Field/Volleyball – Class of 1980 Six varsity Letters across two sports; still holds 42 year records at Foothill and 41 year Track record at Bakersfield College for 400 meters; set multiple Foothill Track records; Valley Champion 100 meters and 400 meters; Valley and State Champion 440 yards.
Lashay Alexander – Basketball/Volleyball/Track – Class of 2012
Varsity Basketball MVP and Captain all four years; All-League and All-Area multiple years; still holds combined Scoring and Rebounding Record; Varsity Volleyball All-League, MVP and Captain; Excelled in Track in the sprints and shot put events; graduated with 4.45 GPA.

Pamela Swearingen-Gates – Freelance Violinist – Class of 1966
Has played violin for over 500 motion pictures and TV shows; recorded with Earl Klugh, Aretha Franklin, Ann Margaret, Earth Wind and Fire and many others; played at Hollywood Bowl, the Pantages and Greek Theatre and is an accomplished studio musician; Extraordinary musical career.
Christy Houston (Porter) – Accomplishment/Contributions – Class of 1994
Founder, Owner and Operator of the Jasmine Nyree Day Care; Owner-Operator of the Dr. Phillip Birdine Learning Center; Married to fellow Trojan and Hall of Fame inductee Joey Porter; Seeing a need to serve needs of severely autistic children such as her daughter Jasmine Nyree, Christy founded the Jasmine Nyree Day Care center in Bakersfield; Again seeing the need in Pittsburgh PA she founded the Dr. Phillip Birdine Learning Center named after her mother’s brother, which provides exceptional learning opportunities for persons with disabilities; named by Bakersfield College as among the Top 100 Individuals who have made a difference in the community; Standout basketball and track athlete at Foothill.
